New life

Mum to be, Sumari

A mother’s joy begins when new life is stirring inside…when a tiny heart is heard for the first time, and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone!

We started the shoot in the family home in Stellenbosch, with big beautiful windows, emanating natural light around every corner, which I love and look for as much as I can in all of my photography.  We then drove to one of Sumari’s favorite surfing spots with the ocean as a beautiful backdrop.

When roots are deep

“When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind”.  This was an impromptu family shoot on a Sunday afternoon.  To witness a family’s support and love for each other AND then to capture those moments is what makes my work worthwhile.

The Grobler’s

I love farm family shoots. This one was no different, if not better. The late afternoon winter light was perfect and the many different backdrops the farm Bloukrans delivered! Thank you Nohline, Wimpie and of course little princess Lienka for inviting me on a lovely Sunday afternoon.

A cooking class birthday,

With another beautiful day as the backdrop for this milestone birthday, Janine got together with a few friends in the kitchen of the Leopard’s Leap Wine Estate. Cooking demonstration was conducted by the in-house chef Pieter de Jager, leaving most of the guests with an expanded culinary skill-set.

The Troskie Wedding

The time I was invited to the wedding as a guest and the photographer.  It was a magical day at Cussonia Crest in the Magalies district, with beautiful mountain views and historic Vygelkraal ruins. With just enough rain for a rainbow and some good luck to the happy couple…it made the perfect backdrop.

Love in the city

We got up bright and early on Sunday morning and arrived at the Maboneng Precinct in Johannesburg for Bernard and Phillane’s fun city shoot…you’ll notice there is a lot of kissing shots.  It was the only way for them to keep from talking and pulling faces while being photographed 🙂
